Do you love technology old and new? Did you devote your life to a specialty and would like to pass on your knowledge? Or perhaps you just like teaching and connecting with others. Whether you are looking to get experience on your resume or are enjoying retirement the Western Addition Community Technology Center has volunteer positions of every kind.
Because we are a non-profit organization, we need your expertise and time to share with the community as a volunteer. This is how we have survived as long as we have, from those who are/were willing to give back to the community
If you like connecting with people of all ages or have a natural teaching ability one can help as a teacher during public hours, or during group visits, we encourage to volunteer with us. Communicate your energy and passion for technology and discovery to the newest generations, and reminisce with older generations.
Volunteers form an essential part of our staff. Whether working out in the classrooms, in the open access lab with our clients, or behind the scenes, our volunteers make an inimitable contribution to the Western Addition Community Technology Center.
Volunteering is a great way to meet interesting people and learn new skills... and you don’t have to be a tech guru! No matter what your interests, you'll find a fun and exciting volunteer opportunity here at the Technology Center.
You can focus on one area of interest or more if you so choose. Currently, we need help in Coding classes as a mentor. If you are familiar with computers, have a good working knowledge in Arithmetic, and enjoy working with youth, we could utilize your skills. We are also in need of volunteers for the front office. You would be answering the phone, and assisting clients with computer questions, job search, cover letter and resume writing and the basic office duties. If you feel you can assist in one of these areas, we would love to have you!
